Michael Li | Engineer & Developer
Hey there! Welcome to my personal website! I am a student @ UC Berkeley majoring in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering, and I love building things, software and hardware alike. I'm an undergrad researcher at the UC Berkeley Sky Computing Lab, I've been a software engineering intern at Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies, machine learning engineer at SomeIdea AI, and software engineering intern at KiDrone. I was a part of Engineering Solutions at Berkeley (ESB) and Formula Electric at Berkeley (FEB).
About
I am a student at UC Berkeley studying Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering. I specialize in algorithm design, full-stack development, and engineering solutions that bridge software and hardware.
Past Experience
I was a software engineering intern at Rivian and Volkswagen Technologies under the Thermal Controls team, focusing on automated testing and feature implementations. I have worked with SomeIdea AI to build a financial analysis AI tool to automate financial report generation. I have also worked with KiDrone to optimize flight paths for reforestation drones.
Projects
- Unmanned Drone Flight Path Optimization - Algorithm for generating fuel-efficient flight paths for reforestation drones
- Reforestation Progress Tracking Desktop App - Full-stack desktop application for drone project management
- Personal Portfolio Website - Responsive portfolio built with Next.js and modern web technologies
- 600V Li-ion Battery Optimization - Custom battery pack design for Formula Electric Berkeley
